Publix has Glade Candles on sale 2 for $4. In their blue Winter Savings coupon book there's a coupon for $1 off 1 candle. Then in last week's newspaper coupon insert there was a coupon for $5 off any 5 SC Johnson, Glade etc... Buy 5 candles use 5 $1 off coupons and 1 $5 off coupon making them FREEEEEEEEEEE I got 25 of them tonight LOL You will have to pay the tax though. Also that coupon for the $1 off a toy under $29.99 (free hot wheels) is on the inside front cover of that same blue Winter Savings coupon book.

Martha White Muffins/Publix Update 2

This $5 off coupon expires this coming Friday. Many people have reported getting a LOT of the coupons and then having their Publix special order these muffins by the cases (24 in each case) and filling their local food banks with muffins.

Walmart price Matches!

Yesterday I was worrying about being able to get the 56 Del Monte veggies at Target because ours is a regular and not a Super Target. I was worried that they would be low in stock etc... THEN I remembered that Walmart price matches! I took the Target ad in and got 8 boxes of Betty Crocker Au gratin potatoes @ .79 cents each (I had $1 off coupons so I got overage on those!) and I got 56 total cans of corn, peas and green beans at .50 cents each and then I used the coupon (14 of them) for $1 off 4 Del Monte... so sweet, nothing out of stock and a breeze at check out! So... lesson learned is... if you can't get to the store with the deals and or your store is out of them, GET A RAIN CHECK FOR LATER and then go to Walmart with the competitor's ad and buy them right away... and use your rain check at a later date at the original store when they are not on sale but you wish they were LOL

100 Boxes of Royal Jello for the food bank for FREE

Publix has a blinkie machine in front of the jello for $1 off 5 boxes of jello. Get as many of those as you can. Take those to Walgreens and in their WEEKLY flier they have a coupon for Royal Jello 5 for $1.00 Do it 5 in each order and have them scan 5 jello, then the Walgreens coupon bringing the total to $1.00 and then the blinkie manufacturer coupon which brings the total down to ZERO... do this as many times as you have blinkie coupons for. I got 100 and will get more this week and will drop them to our local food bank. They'll be thrilled... they get excited over Jello LOL

.25 cents Del Monte Veggies at Target

Veggies on sale at Target for .50 cents each and coupon in today's paper for $1 off 4 so .25 cents each! Since you're buying extra papers for those batteries at CVS (confirmed 3 deals per card!!!) you can buy many veggies to stock up!

CVS Spices & Coke 2 Ltrs

Also spices are B1G1 and Coke is $1 each so be sure to get some rain checks for batteries and cokes because next week batteries will be on sale for $2.99 a pack so you can get a LOT more for the $20 total and then $15 off that so basically $20 worth for $5 less coupons... and you KNOW they will run out of coke 2 ltrs so get a rain check every time you go in so you can get cheap coke forever LOL

I found out today that my CVS activates the sales on Saturday afternoon so I get a jump on everything that'll be out on Sunday... and I already have a rain check for coke...

Starting tomorrow, buy $20 in Duracell and get $15 in ECBs. Use coupons to eat up that $5 difference and get them for free. Tomorrow's paper has a coupon for .75 cents off a 4 pk or larger and there are peelies EVERYWHERE for $1 off...I'm pretty sure the limit is 1 $15 ECB per card but have not verified that...

Publix Shopping Trip

My bill was over $300 today at Publix... and after coupons it was cut in half... HALF of that total... it CAN be done... took me 2 hours to organize my list and coupons and another one and a half hours to shop but SO worth it! Yes, I had a LOT of coupons and YES the cashier did her normal OMG reaction.. which I happen to love... it was awesome...

Even without the .55 cents off two coupons, today and tomorrow you can get 30 packs of Martha White muffin mix for $4 at Publix. Use the Walgreens $5 off $20 coupon (remember Publix takes competitor coupons) and then 3 of the Publix Yellow Advantage Flier $5 off purchase of 10 Smuckers/Martha White coupon. That makes them .13 cents each. I expect I am not the only one to figure this out so... If the shelf is empty ask them to check in the back... and if all else fails... I used that on the muffin mix that is on sale for 5 for $4. Buy 10 for $8 minus $5 coupon makes it $3 BUT in last week's paper (of which I had 15) there was a coupon for Martha White Baking Mixes .55 cents off two... so use 5 of those and your balance is .25 cents TOTAL for 10... I got 30 total for a grand total of .75 cents... mmuuaaahhhhh I'm back!

Almost Free Flavored Creamers

Walgreens has a coupon in their weekly sale paper for the Coffee-mate flavored liquid creamers for B1G1 for $2.49ish. On the Coffee-mate website you can print (twice) a coupon for $1 off of 1... and you can print that twice on EACH computer you have access to... yesterday I got 4 bottles, used 4 coupons and paid about $1 for all 4 bottles... looking for another computer... and just my personal opinion but the peppermint mocha isn't so great.. I'm sticking with the French Vanilla...

Cheap Bertolli Bakes - Walmart

It's being reported that several Super Walmarts around the country are clearing some space in their freezers for their holiday food. They have not marked them but if you scan the Bertolli Bakes bags they will scan at $2 rather than the normal $6-$8 price. Good luck finding them! They did not scan at that price in mine though.

SEVERAL GDA's at CVS

Today I bought the Sobe Life Water and some Propel (5 for $5), used 2 of the $1 off coupons. I got back $3 in ECBs.

I also scanned my card and got a coupon for $1 off CVS brand paper towels. They're the junky kind you would normally pass on but I'd heard "things" about this coupon so I decided to try it... I got a 3 pack of the paper towels $1.99 and when the cashier scanned thr $1 off coupon it took off $2 making them FREE.

I also got 3 bars of the CVS brand Beauty Bars Facial Soap (likeDove) which were marked .99 cents. In that same CVS coupon booklet (trifold) there is a coupon for $1 off any CVS Brand skin care product, making the soap FREE... BUT it gets better.... I bought 3 of these and each one printed out an ECB! Not only free but they paid me $3 to take them home! Not sure but I think the limit per card is 5.

Also in that brochure is a coupon for $2 off any Blade. There is a small almost travel sized BLADE Spray (right by the AXE) that is $1.99 so yes, you guessed it FREE...

CVS 90% off Sunday

Sunday I ran by CVS to get some of the grape juice (see previous post) now that I had some coupons. I found a store that had a shelf full but they were still only down to $2.35 each. I bought 6 for a total of $14.10, used 6 $1 off coupons bringing it down to $8.10 and I SHOULD have gotten $9 in ECBs but they did not print SO they just gave me back my $9 meaning they paid me .90 cents to take home 6 bottles... LOL I also found the following items on 90% off so check your stores, they are probably on sale there too... Crest kit with White Strips, a toothbrush and Crest ProHealth toothpaste all in it, retail $39.99 for $3.99, will keep whitestrips and toothbrushes but I'll donate that ProHealth toothpaste to the food bank, Hurricane first aid kit retail $34.99 for $3.49, CVS diapers size small jumbo pack retail $8.99 for .89 cents (these will go to the food bank, just too cheap not to pick up for them), candles retail $2.99 for .29 cents. I also got some Colgate Maxfresh toothpaste spearmint flavor on sale for 50% off at 1.50 and used a $1.00 off any Colgate Maxfresh coupon from the CVS trifold coupon booklet in stores now making these tubes just .50 cents each.

Garage Sale Bonanza

Well today we participated in a community garage sale. It's an event the development holds twice a year and it brings loads of traffic through the neighborhood. I took all of those gift items (perfume gift sets, hair dryers, lotions, lip glosses, etc...) I had accumulated over the past almost year from the CVS 90% off sales and things I had couponed for or traded to get... and made $350.00. It was a long day but well worth it! I'm already starting to look for items for the next one! So when you pick up something from CVS for 90% off and your spouse says "what in the world are you going to do with that???" You'll know how to respond LOL

UPDATE ON CVS WELCHE'S DEAL

I did find them for $1.17 at one store which is 75% off and then they were 50% off at another and only 25% at another... so wait until Sunday if they are not $1.17 at your store yet BECAUSE... this Sunday there is a $1 off coupon coming in the coupon inserts! How SWEET is that????

At SOME CVS stores they have marked down the Welche's LIGHT Grape Juice 75% off making it $1.17 a bottle. When you buy 2 it prints an ECB for $3 making this a moneymaker! If they are marked down to $3something hold off... they will be marked down on Sunday... You can do this a total of 5 times for 10 bottles.

B1G1

I'm pretty sure everyone knows this mean Buy 1 Get 1 free.... wanted to point out that when you happen to have a coupon for a B1G1 item and a store has that item on a B1G1 sale... you get BOTH free.. yes... you JUST pat the tax... why? Because the one you are "buying" is being paid for to the store by the manufacturer and regardless of who pays for it it's bought... hehe I probably like this deal the most...

Clarification for newbies

I've had a few questions that I thought I would share the answers to with everyone... it will help you to understand this "couponese". Sorry... sometimes I just forget I am speaking a foreign language! LOL

Blinkie - a coupon holder attached to a shelf or cold case in the store that blinks and when you take the coupon out it makes a little noise and then dispenses another coupon,,, a hint about those... they dispense 2 and then wait until you are not standing in front of it OR a set amount of time before it dispenses 2 more... so be patient if you want more than 2..

OOP - This is your Out Of Pocket expense after coupons

Register Rewards - Usually from Walgreens this is an extra slip/coupon that prints out based upon something you bought - it's a manufacturer's coupon good on your next or a future order for money off. Be careful though, they DO expire...

ECBs - From CVS - Extra Care Bucks which is money off of your next or future order only good at CVS that prints out on your receipt. Be careful with these too, they DO expire too.

Tear Pad - This is exactly what it sounds like... a pad of coupons that you can tear off to take 1... or 4 LOL

A while back I sent an e-mail to the Rachel Ray show in response to them asking about how people save money and cut costs. Today they called to find out a little more about what I do. As it happend I was taking a very rare and much needed nap! I did the best I could to snap back to reality though and chatted a little about the classes I teach on couponing, this new blog and some of the ways I save a buck.

It's funny, but I started couponing out of dire necessity... I'd been laid off and the unemployment checks were about to end...even when the situation was not so dire, I continued. Someone asked me once why I continued to work so hard at this "couponing thing" and I said... why on EARTH would I pay for it when I can get it for free???? In the past year I have not paid for toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a whole lot of food... and I LIKE it... not only does it help to allow us to have money to do family fun things (shoot at the price of gas it may be allowing me to drive!), but it also frees up funds for other things we just might not normally be able to buy.

Yes, I have to admit, when I put together a deal that slammin... my heart races a little... my 13 year old son was with me last week when I found those $5.99 bags of Hershey's candy for .59 cents... when I scanned them and just started laughing out loud - literally - he said... "MOM YOU NEED HELP"... LOL I LOVED it....

A few weeks ago Publix had their Birdseye Steamfresh veggies for 50% off... on top of that I had $1 off the purchase of 2 PUBLIX coupons and $1 off the purchase of 2 MANUFACTURER coupons... this made them .25 cents a bag or LESS each... so I bought 50 ... and yes... my heart raced a little when the cashier bowed... yes, I was laughing ALL of the way home... but everytime I see them in the freezer I still giggle a tad knowing someone, somewhere is paying $2.79 a bag and I didn't...

I did this twice today and got 8 12 packs (2 different cards as limit is 4 12 pks per household) as well as a ton of Hannah Montana pens and some candy, 6 Corn Pops to go packs, 4 Snyder Pretzel 6 packs and some cookies (all items but coke was 90% off) and in TOTAL after existing ECBs and coupons I paid $6.41 cents and got back $6 in ECBs...

Sorry for the numerous posts today but my brain in in overdrive! I've been asked several times about the Hershey's candy deal at CVS so... here you go...

Ok FIRST go to www.smartsource.com and print off the Hershey's fun size coupon $1 off when you buy 3... then get thee to a CVS or 6 LOL On the REGULAR candy aisle usually near the bottom there are BROWN bags of HERYSHEY'S CHOCOLATE MIX (there's one in the Halloween candy aisle that is the same but it's purple NOT brown and is NOT on this sale)... there are Kit Kats, Hershey's, Milk Duds and Take 5 bars in there and they are 16.44 oz stand up bags. Take those to a scanner... they SHOULD ring up at $1.49 or .59 cents now in most areas in spite of the $5.99 shelf tag price... buy 3, use one coupon, buy 6 use two

Today I want to encourage everyone to SIGN UP. For anything you can find.. so many good things...

www.focusonservice.com is Longhorn Steakhouse secret shoppers central... you sign up for particular lunches or dinners twice a year and they give you back the money plus a "service fee" to cover tip and gas I think. Simple survey, long but easy and something fun to do...

On the Food Lion website you can sign up for their weekly newsletter and coupons. I rarely use them at Food Lion I take them to Publix because they take competitor coupons, every area has a store that does this... everywhere other than here in FL there are stores that double coupon amounts... Kmart IS doing double coupons again this week though I refuse to shop there...

If you buy ANYTHING online join www.MyPoints.com between clicking on e-mails etc... I have 5000 points and have not bought one thing...you can exchange for prizes and gift cards...

Dawn Dish Soap

CVS has Dawn Dish Soap on sale for .99 cents. It does NOT SHOW in the ad that the Dawn Plus Hand Renewal is also included and there is no shelf tag but it's ringing the same price. If you still have the $1 off Dawn coupon from a few weeks ago you get this free... if you don't, this past Sunday had a coupon for .50 cents off making it .49 cents plus tax... this product is really good and is usually almost #4 a bottle... stock up!

Publix and Voila Meals

Today I got those Voila frozen meals (various chicken and shrimp scampi flavors). They are normally $4.69 each. This week they are B1G1 free so 2 for $4.69... then there is a blinkie coupon for $1.25 off 1 Voila meal and since you are doing the B1G1 you can use 2 of those... making your final cost $1.10 for each bag. (if you can't find the blinkie, there is a new coupon book in Publix... it's called "Fresh, Flavorful Frozen and more... picture of a little girl with messy face on front that has a coupon for $2 off of 2... not quite as good but still a great deal). It takes 2 of those bags and a salad to make dinner for the four of us but even the salad (Fresh Express) is B1G1 this week too so we had shrimp scampi (I add extra pasta to this because we find it to be too saucy and not pasta enough for us) and salad for all 4 of us with leftovers for $4.20 total or $1.05 a person. Not too bad.....

Well I've grown tired trying to remember who to call to let them know I found Hershey's Mix $5.99 bags of candy for .59 cents and remember only incoming minutes are free on my cell... so I decided that my very own BLOG was the way to go... and here we are... I will try to post at least daily, you shoudl check at least twice a day so that in case I find some awesome deal during that day you don't miss it... this puts some of the responsibility on you to come and have a look and takes some off of me so I don't have to remember to call everyone!
